This is an open-ended coaching opportunity where we’ll communicate asynchronously via WhatsApp, as much as you’d like, over a period of 180 days (6 months).

As we move into the 2nd half of 2024, not only is this an opportunity to gear up for 2025 with all the pieces of your life in balance, but also to experience real change and progress within the first few weeks of your coaching. Right now.

We can jump right into habit coaching with the things you’re stuck with, productivity 101, or goal/ project-oriented coaching, where I’ll be there every step of the way.

Whether you’re wanting to write a book, push through a doctoral thesis, set up a business, transform your health, kick binge-watching to the curb, find work-life balance, run a marathon, figure out your priorities, quit addictive substances, feel like you’re enjoying life a whole lot more, or climb out of a black hole—whatever it is that you need a new perspective and strategy on—that’s what we’ll work on together.

Since you’ll be able to dialogue with me for an uninterrupted 6 months, we can grapple with entrenched habits and challenges that require time… or tackle multiple goals, projects and habits in succession.

  • Well be having asynchronous back-and-forth coaching conversations in WhatsApp – via text, audio or video.

WhatsApp has over 3 billion users, is free and has some super useful features for coaching purposes. Even if you’re not a WhatsApp user, you could use it as your dedicated coaching app.

(WhatsApp provides end-to-end encryption for all messages that you send and receive. This makes sure that only you and I will be able to read or listen to them.)

There are fantastic advantages to be had through asynchronous coaching:

    1. No scheduling conflicts at all. You can interact/ dialogue whenever you have time during the day. This is precisely what will allow for consistent communication during our time together.

    2. No matter what you've got going—whether illness, your birthday, a national holiday, a vacation, etc.—you'll comfortably be able to continue our dialogue as often as you need.

    3. We'll get straight to the heart of the matter: written/ recorded communication tends to be a lot more precise.

    4. I'll be able to pose more deliberative and thoughtful questions, while you can take the time needed to reflect on what it is that you want to get across – which is often not the easiest when speaking with a coach in real time. This leads to a more meaningful dialogue.

    5. You'll have a written record of insights, Eureka! moments and breakthroughs you can easily reference.

  • I've written a great deal about making and breaking habits over the years... and I've coached hundreds of folk through their own particular habit-related challenges.

    PRODUCTIVITY 101

The world of productivity is my playground. I can help you work with whatever system(s) you've already got going, or explore new organizational/ productivity methods.

You'll have a WorkFlowy expert and accomplished productivity coach in your corner. My experience in habit formation is ample – as my readers and coaching clients will attest to. You're likely one of them.

I'll help you create a plan of action, iterate on it, and track your progress from beginning to end.

Helping people find real-life practical solutions is what I do with my productivity teaching. Habit coaching is something I've been engaged in for the longest of times.

    THE SOCRATIC DIALOGUE

One of my go-to dynamics is that of the "Socratic dialogue".

Think of a Socratic dialogue (inspired by the Greek philosopher Socrates) as a thought-provoking conversation. Here's how it will typically unfold:

I'll begin by asking about the habits you want to make or break, the projects you'd like to get the ball rolling on, or whatever challenges are staring you down... and in response you'll share your thoughts. We'll keep the conversation flowing with more questions and answers.

Along the way, self-reflection, critical thinking and the exploration of different ideas and solutions will unfold naturally.

I've used this approach very effectively with my coaching clients.

    ACCOUNTABILITY COACH

I will be holding you to your commitments. I'll nudge you when you need nudging. We’ll be working together for 6 months.

  • 1. 180 days of unlimited asynchronous coaching. Feel free to send me messages any time of night or day... and I will respond from anywhere between 1 to 24 hours.

    2. A live video call at the beginning of every month and at the end of the course (7 in total). * This is optional, depending on whether or not you'd like to speak live.

    3. ChatGPT and customized GPT's are now free for everyone. If you'd like, I can share my "Procrastination Buddy" tool with you, as well as create one or more customized tools with very specific programming, just for you. We'll discuss this.

Here's what a coaching student, who is herself a clinical psychologist, had to say about Procrastination Buddy:

"Oh my goodness Frank! This Procrastination Buddy is the best!! It's worth the price of working with you all on it's own (though everything about your offer feels valuable). It strikes just the right tone and not only helps me break down the steps to take action, it helps me laugh at conundrum – in a good way. Thank you!!"

    4. Free access to any of the books I've written over the years upon request.

From previous habits-coaching clients

  • Your insights definitely elevate the conversation I'd otherwise be having with myself. I'm seeing really important insights and even though some of this should be obvious (I teach it and write about it in my books after all!) it's not always obvious where and how I am not applying my own principles. So again I thank you. This is far more than sticky habits - it's plumbing the depths in a way that truly helps me move forward.Previous attempts on routine exercise have not yielded as strong of a feeling of well being. I don't know why it is this time. Whatever it is, I really like it. It is providing some overall perspective that I was missing.

  • How can we have just one week left?! When we started the program, I thought the month would seem so long and like so much work, but it has been a delight and an incredible support for work that I have been trying to do for a very, very long time. I have found a lot of value in typing the dialogue vs meeting in person or via video chat. Typing discourages me from being performative for the coach or counselor and getting those pats on the head for the 30 minutes and then going back to life without too much of a consideration of really working to implement a new approach. Lots has clicked into place with your coaching style and this format, and came at the right time for me. I am hopeful this the beginning of true change (I DO believe I really am building the real skills to keep positive habits in place) and not just a blip on the performative client timeline! I so appreciate your work, leadership and support!

  • I'm very appreciative of this 31-day challenge. I feel like it's the emotional/spiritual equivalent to a week of deep tissue massages. I've really been able to unpack a lot of stuff that I had let build up. What this course has taught me is to feel worthy enough and capable of achieving a mindset and guiding philosophy where I simply don't accept failure. I think this is an impressive testament to the potency of this Socratic Dialogue and your ability to run it.

  • I've been telling my students, wife and anyone else who will listen, that your "31 Days to Sticky Habits" challenge is a modernized, democratized and superior version of Seth Godin's AltMBA, which I participated in, in the Summer of 2017.

  • At your prompting, I can't tell you how good it feels to have decided to focus "only" on one habit (for the time being): I feel so much less pressure/paralysis. I think that "getting a taste" of how good it feels to start off the day right has motivated me to try again after a setback. I also think that accountability, vis à vis yourself, is playing a huge part, but obviously you won't be here to check up on me forever…

  • And I really am appreciating your leadership and thoughtfulness...I definitely feel supported and accountable, but not in an unpleasant way.

  • I really appreciate you helping me along on my journey. I know it seems like I have steamed ahead with confidence, but I can truly say that so many things clicked in place because I received your email about habit coaching, it caught my eye, it was affordable, I was intrigued by the approach, I just went ahead and invested in signing up right away and I have reaped so many benefits from the thoughtful approach, resources shared, gentle suggestions and caring support, which I needed to step on to this path and keep on it for three weeks. This experience will definitely build my confidence for the future and I excited to see the results. Thank you, Frank.

  • Thank you so much Frank - it's been a pleasure getting to know you (somewhat anyway!) through your responses and questions. It's always amazing to me what can happen with great questions and a willing spirit to explore. Quite a testament to the power of asynchronous! You seem to have a gift for this...

  • Your Sticky Habits course is awesome! These past 31 days have been fun, challenging, insightful and inspiring. What a great way to start the year.  Many thanks!

  • I feel good about where I am and you have really helped me solidify and stay faithful to my best intentions during a really hectic time of year for me. I am grateful!

  • Frank, thank your for the phenomenal course!  It was the very best habit-building course. Life changing! Thank you!!!

  • This has been a tremendous experience. I think I fall in the category of “stop and start”, however, I’ve accomplished more than I thought I would, and have made significant progress. Oftentimes, I used to forget that I was trying to start something, but this time it’s different. I’m now very conscious of the habits that I’ve been wanting to implement. One of the more important habits that I’ve worked on is that of sitting down in the morning and doing some learning on a specific topic, before I do anything else. For literally years, I’ve told myself that I was going to get around to this, but I never did. I’ve now gotten into the rhythm of learning in the morning with my first cup of coffee. I feel good.

  • I’ve really enjoyed the program! Great leadership. I believe that I’m building permanent "hard" habits, which will stick with me and change the course of my life.
